Meet Camille
An unintended expatriate blogger behind Harbor Plume Stone

Hi there, I am Camille
I work as a project manager, am a parent, and an expat based in Paris, France.
A few years back I moved here with my family, and what began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter overseas.
Origins of the Move
Moving to France wasn’t part of the long-term plan. Like many international relocations, it started as a job opportunity and quickly grew into something much bigger.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more complicated than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But slowly, routines formed. We discovered places that worked for us, met other families, and started building something that felt stable.
What Motivated Me to Create Harbor Plume Stone
Most information online was either corporate-level relocation advice or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site exists to close that gap — practical guidance based on real life in France.
What This Site Does (And Does Not)
This site IS:
- Practical know-how from living in France
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated when something real changes
This site ISN'T:
- A tourism authority resource
- Sponsored review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in France continues, and so does the learning process. As long as the information is useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Paris or anywhere in France, don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Camille
